Why Are We Still Obsessing Over UGG® Boots – Let’s Move On
Let’s just start by addressing the obvious. UGG® has never made my “top 5”for the most
stylist boot brand or collection. Sorry but not sorry. I honestly think UGG®boots are hideous
and look like the cartoon characters – Smurf boots. However, UGG® still reigns supreme as the
most sought after boots for fall/winter season since the year 2000. I’m so over it, and I’ll explain
Did I mention how hideous UGG® boots are? They are so bulky, and the insulated wool is
such an overkill. After an hour of wearing them, my so-called warmed comfy feet started
sweating like I was in a sauna. No exaggeration, my feet were as sweaty and sticky as my failed
attempt to wear the clear, Perspex (lucite) material booties. If any of you are out there buying
used UGG® boots or sharing boots with your besties, I have one word for you – yuck!
UGG® boots are lazy fashion staples. Yep, I said it! They are the fall/winter season slides.
Don’t dare call yourself a connoisseur of footwear if you lazily sliding into a worn out pair of
UGG® boots all winter. That’s beyond playing it safe, and is such a fashion faux pas. I see you
and I’m openly judging. I respect kitten heel wearers more than you.
Every since people saw Oprah Winfrey featured UGG® boots, on her show back in 2000, as
one of her favorite things – the world has been UGG® crazy. Just being honest. It’s time to stop
sipping the Oprah koolaid, and let the obsession go. I’m tired of seeing middle aged women in
bedazzled sequined bulky boots, and Smurf looking boots holding a cup of Starbucks, like that’s
the trending thing to do. I can think of all sorts of other things to do with $200 versus walking
around looking like I’m trying to walk on the moon.
